There are many types of gas lasers. A helium neon laser (i.e. HeNe laser, he ne laser, or laser he ne) is a type of continuously operating, or continuous wave (CW) gas laser in which the gain medium is a 10:1 mixture of helium and neon, pressurized within a glass tube. When a DC current is applied to two electrodes on opposite ends of the HeNe tube, helium atoms are excited into metastable states. When excited, helium atoms can efficiently transfer energy to neon atoms with quite similar excitation energies. Due to the multiple energy levels of neon atoms, multiple laser transitions (helium neon laser wavelengths) are possible with this type of gas laser.
The HeNe lasers we offer boast an excellent TEM00 beam, robust mechanical design, a long service life of up to 30,000 hours, and are available in 543nm, 594nm, and 632.8nm wavelengths, with output powers from 0.5mW to 20mW. Choose between standard and customized models, with available options such as single-mode or multimode, random or linear polarization, Brewster window tubes, and fiber coupling. All models can be provided with either a laboratory HeNe power supply, or one of three OEM power supply versions. He Ne Lasers vs Diode Lasers:
There have been many discussions around whether or not diodes will replace HeNe lasers. However, while this may be plausible for certain applications, the superior beam quality, long service lifetime, low noise, high stability, and competitive cost of HeNe lasers ensures a solid foothold in applications where excellent beam quality is critical.
Our Ar-Ion lasers are compact, economical, and boast an excellent beam quality, long term stability, low noise operation, and a broad blue to green spectral range, with emission lines from 454nm to 514nm, and output powers up to 35mW. Choose between single wavelength or multi-wavelength versions, as well as a dual-line version, perfect for photo printing applications in the AGFA d-lab.2 and d-lab.3 printers.
All laser tubes have an internal mirror with a vacuum-tight, hard-sealed and integrated resonator construction for optimizing the life time and power stability. Several options for cooling, OEM power supplies, and a remote control are available. The laser mirrors are adjusted and fixed by a special, proprietary technology, providing maintenance-free operation with no need for readjustment in the field!
