The SB1-UV series is an ultra-compact, ruggedized ultraviolet microchip laser platform for applications that require 236.5, 266, or 355 nm output in a small, integrated package. These passively Q-switched DPSS lasers offer nanosecond pulsed operation, SLM/narrow-linewidth performance, and the shared SB1 form factor used across the Microchip family.
SB1-UV is a strong starting point when UV wavelength, compact packaging, beam quality, and integration flexibility matter more than maximum pulse energy or average power. The platform is commonly considered for spectroscopy, LIBS, MALDI, marking, small-feature micromachining, electronics manufacturing, compact instrumentation, and OEM integration.
Start with SB1-UV when your application depends on:
- 236.5, 266, or 355 nm UV output
- Ultra-compact microchip packaging
- Nanosecond pulsed operation
- SLM/narrow-linewidth performance
- Low-SWaP integration
- Shared SB1 form factor and interfaces across wavelength variants
- Development kit, quick-start kit, beam-expander/collimator, heat-sink, or custom packaging options
SB1-UV is often a good starting point when the application requires a compact ultraviolet microchip laser rather than a larger configurable DPSS platform. If your requirements call for visible output, compare against SB1-VIS. If IR/NIR wavelength is the main driver, compare against SB1-IR. If you need higher pulse energy, broader wavelength coverage, higher average power, ps/sub-ns operation, MOPA architecture, or more extensive custom configuration, RPMC can help compare SB1-UV against Onda, Wedge, SOL, Aero, Vento, or a custom Bright Solutions platform.
