High Energy, Compact, Nanosecond DPSS Lasers

The Quantas Laser Series are high energy diode pumped, air-cooled, Q-switched lasers. Designed for a wide range of applications that require high peak power pulses.

The robust, reliable design makes these DPSS lasers an ideal tool for applications such as:

  • Light Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS)
  • Time-of-Flight Spectroscopy (TOFS)
  • Light Induced Fluorescence (LIF) Spectroscopy
  • Flash photolysis
  • Matrix Assisted Laser Desorption / Ionization (MALDI)
  • Pulsed Light Deposition (PLD)
  • LCD repair, laser ablation, remote sensing and many others

Configurations of Quantas Laser:

Wide selections of configurations are available including 70 mJ @ 50 Hz or 40 mJ @ 100 Hz. The less than 10 ns pulse duration allows efficient fundamental wavelength conversion to higher harmonics with the shortest wavelength available being 213 nm. Wavelength conversion into the infrared range by use of an OPO is also available upon request. TEC based cooling eliminates the risks associated with water cooling and reduces the overall running cost due to there being no maintenance required.

The Quantas Laser series are available with a variety of options, including motorized attenuation, and a smart harmonics option that allows for hands free harmonic tuning.

The Quantas laser series optical performance is in a “typical” environment. The typical mix of requirements for performance and specifications requested in the past is what we mean by “typical”.

However, every year new applications for our products emerge. With those new applications come new requirements for laser specifications and/or performance.  For example, an application may require a reduced footprint of the laser or electronics, or a need for a larger operating temperature range or higher pulse energies.  The list could go on and on.  Therefore, if you do not find the appropriate specifications you are looking for, we will be glad to discuss your requirements and confirm the feasibility of optimizing our products for your application. See our new Lasers 101 page for in depth information on Solid State Lasers.
