Spark Lasers has developed the ALCOR 920nm femtosecond laser, based on their innovative fiber laser technology. The ALCOR is the only femtosecond fiber laser producing up to 2 W of average power at 920 nm. Spark Lasers conceived this unique fiber laser in reaction to the demand from the scientific and industrial community users. The latest developments in high speed electronics provide a combination of intuitive graphical user interface and on-the-fly parameter settings for optimal ease of use. For instance, GDD (Group Delay Dispersion) can be adjusted live to maximize contrast efficiently with just one click.
High-resolution optical microscopy has evolved rapidly in the past 20 years both technically and commercially. Novel techniques are being developed in research laboratories to push boundaries in terms of resolution, depth, 3D imaging and data acquisition. Meanwhile complete industrial turn-key microscope systems are now commercially available.
These rapid changes were mostly motivated by the increasing number of demanding applications such as multiphoton excitation (MPE), optogenetics and neuroscience. Ultrafast lasers are the ideal tools for these applications due to the high peak intensity combined with low fluence to avoid damages.
