OPO Pumping Lasers

OPO which stands for optical parametric oscillator is a device which utilizes the non-linear optical processes to create a tunable wavelength output from a short pulsed infrared laser.  To enable this tunable frequency conversion most OPO’s utilize a material known as periodically poled lithium niobate (PPLN), and more specifically the fan-out grating design which allows for wider tunability.   Additionally, it is important to note that OPO’s can be used in both sum and difference frequency modes to generate laser light from the visible through the infrared.  For this process to work efficiently OPO pumping lasers must have short pulse widths and relatively high pulse energies.  On this page, you will find a list of all of the OPO pumping lasers we offer including nanosecond and picosecond q-switched lasers as well as femtosecond mode-locked laser systems.
