POWERLASE is the world leader in the supply of high powered, nanosecond, Q switched, Diode Pumped Solid State lasers to the global Flat Panel Display (FPD) market for ITO direct patterning. Solar cells are currently manufactured using high quality, high cost semiconductor lithography techniques. POWERLASE has developed laser applications that offer similar quality at much reduced cost. This laser innovator employs similar techniques for rapid laser patterning (RLP) as used to replace lithography in flat panel displays using multiple wavelengths to process active thin films on glass and flexible substrates. POWERLASE has developed unique processes for flexible PCB singulation and via drilling. It is currently working with a selection of multinational organisations to develop next generation flexible PCBs.

POWERLASE lasers open new possibilities in mould tool creation, manufacturing cutting tools, deep engraving, high speed product identification, removal of coatings, and surface treatments such as hardening and the post processing of welded areas.

The high power, high repetition rates, short pulses, and good beam properties of POWERLASE lasers allow the accurate, high quality, drilling and shaping of Nickel Super Alloys, as well as the selective removal of surface coatings such as Thermal Barrier Coatings (TBCs) without cracking or delaminating.

POWERLASE lasers have a wide variety of new applications in the automotive field. Surface treatments on engine components, and patterning and treatments on car glass coatings, are some of the processes enabled at industrially acceptable speeds.
