MQO - Passively Q-switched Laser

 


Miniature Q-Switched Oscillators (MQO) are OEM lasers configured to customer requirements to provide pulsewidths from 0.4 to 10 nanoseconds with TEMoo energies of up to 200 microJoules. Repetition rates as high as 300 kHz are available.  These lasers come in fundamental wavelengths of 946, 1030, 1047, 1053, 1064nm, the harmonics thereof.

Due to the nature of their construction MQO’s are easily customized to specific requirements (i.e. pulse width, energy, rep rate, etc.).   The discrete element approach offers several performance advantages in addition to the inherent design flexibility.  The average power and pulse energy is several times higher than the microchip devices offered by other firms for a given diode pump power while maintaining near perfect beam quality. The repetition rate can be varied from single shot to maximum while maintaining beam quality. In competitive microchip devices the cavity is stabilized mainly by thermal effects.  As such, a given design only works at a certain fixed input power, which translates to a fixed repetition rate.
